CellPro: A new way to recover cellulose

The main goal of the CellPro project is to create new technologies that will be able to separate tertiary cellulose from cellulose containing residual streams, like for example the sewage treatment plant, and make them suitable for further use.

The innovation process that is developed with this project, ensures that cellulose can be extracted on a larger scale. Whereby the quality of the material is purer than is achieved in existing methods. To date, the upcycling of cellulose is nowhere in the world applied in a similar manner, or on an similar scale.

This project will be financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Co-financed in the frame of the respons of the European Union on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kansen voor West is the joint investment program of the four Randstad provinces and the four large cities. It puts EFRO subsidies for
projects that support innovative SMEs, which contribute to a low-carbon economy or promote sustainable urban development.
